Strong Roots, Keep it Local
Coalville is the Summit County seat and sits at the low end of our service area at roughly 5,600 feet, on the Weber River above Echo Reservoir. The properties here are more agricultural and more open than anything in Park City, which makes the work cheaper per acre and the species mix more riparian than alpine. It is also the furthest regular drive we make, which matters for how you should book it: a single small job out here carries the travel, while two or three neighbouring properties scheduled together spreads it. If you have neighbours thinking about the same work, that is the cheapest way to get it done. The fire picture is different too — at this elevation it is grass, sage and oak carrying fire fast along the ground rather than conifer carrying it through a canopy, so the mitigation work looks different from what a Park City owner would recognise.
Summit County HB 48 programme applies; confirm any city boundary locally
HB 48 took effect 1 January 2026 and applies statewide: a high-risk boundary map, lot-level triage assessments, and risk-based fees that shift from flat to assessment-driven in 2028. As the Summit County seat, Coalville sits alongside the county's own implementation, which assigns properties a triage classification of I, II or III based on compliance, with state notices to high-risk owners beginning in 2026. For whether the city maintains an additional boundary of its own, call the city — we are not going to infer it.

River-corridor species dominate the low ground — cottonwood and willow along the Weber, with the associated hazard profile of large, fast-growing, relatively short-lived trees. The surrounding slopes carry Gambel oak and sage, which is a grass-and-brush fire picture rather than a crown-fire one, and needs different treatment from the conifer work higher up the valley.
Among the most equipment-friendly ground we work: open, flat, and reachable, which means lower per-acre cost than anywhere up the canyon. A chipper and dump truck can usually get within a few yards of the material, so very little of the labour goes into carrying brush. Soft riparian ground through spring and buried irrigation on farm parcels are the two things to plan around, and both are easier to handle if they come up on the walkthrough rather than on the morning of the work.
